Job Description
Summary
Responsible for administering and maintaining the credit balance report and unidentified payments, and for processing refunds, adjustments, and journal vouchers. Audits insurance reimbursements for correctness of payment according to contract.
Job Duties
- Handles complex procedures within the insurance verification department, including, but not limited to verification, authorizations, estimates for both hospital and clinical based services.
- Identifies issues regarding insurance verification/authorization process.
- Analyzes trends and issues and proposes appropriate action to resolve.
- Contacts outside clinics to secure required approvals
- Works independently on special projects and follows through to completion.
- Responds to matters in the absence of Supervisor.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
