The successful candidate:

This is a Full-time onsite role where you will work business working hours with flexibility as needed during more demanding times.

The Operations Analyst is responsible for providing analytic support for hospital-wide initiatives, service line development, and new patients. While serving as a critical business partner to Clinical Leaders, the Operations Analyst will help drive high quality, improved patient experience and service line growth. The Analyst will develop and utilize reporting tools necessary to support Clinical Operations to drive service line utilization and achieve strategic business targets.

Additionally, this role will gather data to support metrics and analytics, and exercise discretion and independent judgement to make decisions and recommendations. Also, this role supports data standardization processes and helps develop, maintain, and automate tools and systems to support Clinical department monitoring. The role will be tasked daily with serving as a business partner of choice to provide value added insights to hospital executives and Clinical leadership.

This position reports to the Director of Finance.

  • Provides data analysis for all new patients entering the hospital – specifically monitoring patient throughput, while providing insight in a patient’s status. Report to Leadership new patient trends including appointments, treatments, pending patients, time to appointment, time to treatment, conversion rates and/or lost patients to help drive operational decision making.

  • Supports Leadership in defining Clinical strategy and developing operational plans and analyses that help meet business objectives; ensures clear communication and alignment of the strategy with Marketing, Physicians, Senior leaders, and Clinical leaders.

  • Interprets, evaluates, and interrelates data and develops integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.

  • Develops, implements, and supports service line growth while working alongside Operations leadership to drive results. Also serves as a resource charged in supporting an array of initiatives, in conjunction with Leadership and Clinical leaders. Provides operational analysis to the Finance team in the creation of financial models and delivery of analyses.

  • Collaborates with department managers to provide and explain operational results and forecasts. Assists in providing recommendations for improvement. Provides measurement and cost savings support

  • Supports Operations month-end reporting, variance analyses and other ad hoc analyses which include daily, weekly, and monthly review and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.

  • Conducts insightful ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, or another business-related field.

  • 1-3 years of healthcare finance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Minimum Required Experience

  • Key requirements of this role include excellent communication skills, people and process/project management skills, ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure along with the ability to influence people at all levels of the organization.

  • Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Suite, e.g., Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to effectively work independently as well as with others.

  • Must demonstrate strong time-management skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive.

  • Must be able to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational.

City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $28.58 - $47.04 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
