Job Description

City of Hope Department of Hematology/HCT and Cellular Therapies seeks a Leukemia specialist to provide services for our Irvine and Duarte campuses.Join one of the top, nationallyrecognized, Cancer Centers as we seek to hire a full-time clinical faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Seeking research and mission-minded physicians who provide exceptional patient-centered care through clear communication and collaboration with members of the subspecialty teams and actively participate to the growing clinical and translational research programs. HIGHLIGHTS

· State-of-the-art facilities:

Irvine - 73 bed hospital, 4 operating room suites, 8 bed ICU

Duarte - 226 bed hospital, 15 bed evaluation and treatment center, 18 bed closed ICU

DUTIES

· Clinical time is divided between outpatient service atthe Irvine site and inpatient at boththe Irvine and Duarte sites

City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer care for generations. As an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, City of Hope achieves exceptional outcomes difficult to obtain elsewhere. Our cancer center offers access to experts with unparalleled expertise in breast, prostate, lung, blood, gastrointestinal and gynecological cancers, and more.
In 2025, City of Hope will open Orange County’s only specialty cancer hospital. This six-story hospital will be seamlessly connected to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. By opening the new hospital – City of Hope’s second academic hospital in California – we are fulfilling our promise to Orange County and completing the continuum of
care for people with cancer. The leukemia program is one of a largest program and fully integrates clinical, translational and basic research across both City of Hope Lennar and Duarte campuses and hospitals.

· M.D. or D.O. from an accredited educational institution

· Board certified/eligible in Hematology and/ or Medical Oncology

· Training and/or experience in hematopoietic cell transplantation, CAR T and other types of cellular therapies is highly recommended.

· Excellent clinical skills and experience in malignant hematology with evidence of ability and desire to build a practice and think programmatically.

· Experience working in an academic medical center or specialty cancer center that delivers both clinical and translational research to patients diagnosed with cancer *preferred but not required

· Academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant or early to mid-career Associate Professor

· Possession of, or eligibility for, unrestricted CA medical license

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
