  • Manufacturing throughput efficiency and increased manufacturing yield
  • Reduction of end-to-end cycle time and increase of percent release attainment 
  • Increased quality control lab throughput and more timely closure of quality assurance investigations
  • Increased manufacturing yield of vaccines
  • More cost-effective network planning decisions and lowered inventory costs

 

As the Senior Manager, Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers, driving the overall reliability and performance of our systems and solutions. You will be a key leader in the architecture, strategy and execution of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, Data Engineers and stakeholders across the organization to ensure our infrastructure and software deliverables are robust, scalable, and efficient.

You will lead initiatives to automate processes, optimize costs and continuously improve the infrastructure that powers our solutions. Your leadership in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation will help us achieve new heights in operational excellence.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

As the Senior Manager, Lead Site Reliability Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a Technical lead and mentor in a team of SREs to deliver high-quality software and infrastructure in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Define and drive the overall SRE strategy, ensuring performance, scalability and reliability of systems
  • Architect cost-effective, performant and secure systems in alignment with business needs
  • Automate manual and repetitive processes to enhance operational efficiency
  • Champion cloud capabilities for the SDLC and oversee cloud infrastructure performance and cost management
  • Lead the design, implementation and optimization of our CI/CD pipelines
  • Architect and implement monitoring, alerting and automation solutions to ensure service health and reliability
  • Lead the release and deployment process, building a robust knowledge database and continuously optimizing procedures to reduce deployment time and improve reliability
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop and enhance new and existing applications
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on increasing operational efficiency and reliability

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Technology Operations, Software Development, or similar field
  • Proven experience with the following platforms and tools:
    • Kubernetes / EKS
    • AWS EC2, EKS, EBS, S3, RDS, MSK or equivalents on other Cloud Providers
    • GitHub Actions or similar Cloud based CI tooling
    • Terraform
    • FluxCD/ArgoCD or Similar GitOps based Kubernetes CD tool
    • Docker
    • Prometheus / Grafana
    • ELK/ECK stack
  • Proficiency in Bash, plus at least one other modern programming language suchas Java, JavaScript, C#, Python
  • Operational experience with at least one SQL and one NoSQL Database platform such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, DocumentDB, Neo4j
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and cloud computing
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex software products including the deployment of multiple versions / releases of a large product
  • Experience working in teams to address software defect analysis, troubleshooting and resolution
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Proactive approach and goal-oriented mindset, research, problem solving and analytical skills
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pharmaceutical Experience
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
  • Practical knowledge of Agile (Scrum), SAFe (Scalable Agile Framework)
     

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to manage many parallel objectives and changing priorities.
 

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS 

  • Job will require working with global teams and applications. Flexible working schedule may be needed occasionally.
  • Must be able to support planned weekend or night cutover activities occasionally, depending on release schedule.
