As a Shared Laboratory Research Assistant, you will perform a variety of activities at a lower scientific complexity level and function as a key support to the operations and research customers. The caregiver in this role will have three months of on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and Cleveland Clinic policies.     

A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening/Night/Weekend, from variable hours.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• With appropriate supervision, perform various procedures or SOPs to carefully operate and conduct maintenance of core equipment.  

• Notify senior personnel or supervisor of equipment malfunction or other issues that need immediate attention.  

• Perform quality assurance on all assigned activities per procedures or SOPs.  

• Assist with collecting, receiving, processing, transporting, or storing supplies from various labs.  

• Provide customer service, receives/answers, and processes departmental communications through iLab ordering system, or email, or phone and/or voicemail, or other technology used for communication.  

• Perform appropriate cleaning procedures for specific areas and maintain adequate stock of supplies, inventory management of transporting and distributing supplies as needed. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• High School diploma or GED.
