ROLE SUMMARY
Corporate Affairs Senior Specialist (Korea)The Corporate Affairs Senior Specialist supports all External Communication efforts of the Pfizer Biopharmaceuticals Group in Korea. This includes support of the External Communication team, and the Policy & Public Affairs team.
The position is responsible for helping to deliver strategic communication programs that drive business objectives, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and protect and improve Pfizer’s corporate reputation in Korea.
In addition, the position will provide support to shape the external environment to support the business goals and identify any risks/opportunities to mitigate/advocate for Policy change to advance Pfizer Korea’s business priorities.
The position reports to the Senior Manager & Cluster Lead, IDM External Communication (Australia, NZ & Korea). Day-to-day, the role takes direction from the Director of Policy & Public Affairs (Korea) to help prioritise & balance team tasks overall. The Corporate Affairs Senior Specialist will also work closely with regional External Communication leaders, as well as the Patient Advocacy team.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborating with the Senior External Communication Specialist (Korea), therole will work to:
Develop effective communication strategies for Pfizer key brands and issues related to policies; coordinate their successful implementation through collaborative teamwork and maximise use of outsourced resources.
Liaise with Global Corporate Affairs and Media Relations team for international programs when needed; leverage global position & message.
Work closely with PR agencies to better plan & implement communication programs.
Support management of inquiries from media & external stakeholders (aligned with BU) and respond in an appropriate manner.
Ensure internal alignment and effective collaboration across a number of functions, including Marketing, Medical, Health & Value, Regulatory Affairs.
Collaborating with the Director of Policy & Public Affairs (Korea), the role will work to:
Proactively monitor government’s healthcare policy direction and keep relevant members informed of policy changes; and contribute to the discussions on its implications on the business.
Identify risks or opportunities from policy environmental changes and support the development of plans to mitigate or capitalise on them.
Support Director, Policy & Public Affairs by contributing to development of strategic relationships with key stakeholders for environment-shaping and outreach plans; and to enhance patient access.
Ensure that Pfizer plays a leadership role in key trade and business associations operating in Korea; and that advocacy positions and activities are aligned with Pfizer positions.
Proactively ensure program of work has internal alignment, and to execute work in a highly matrixed environment, collaborating cross-functionally with: Marketing, Medical, Health & Value, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Affairs, and other Country Leadership teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Capability requirements:
University Graduate in a relevant discipline (eg. Communications, Public Relations, Economics, Politics, or Law). Masters degree a plus.
Good knowledge of healthcare (or biotech) environment; or related stakeholders (eg. Govt officials, National Assembly preferred).
3 to 5 years of experience and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies & plans in a large, complex organisation.
Demonstrated skills in issues management, and experience in media relations.
Fluent spoken and written English and Korean.
Able to align and integrate communications strategy with business strategy.
Ability to research, develop, deliver and measure communication strategies and plans.
Ability to assimilate strategic information and simplify it into clear, concise messages that stakeholders can understand.
Strategic and analytical mindset.
Political acuity and business acumen.
Proactive, self-starter, and able to work independently.
Strong ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional team.
Strong relationship-building skills, and ability to interact with confidence with various levels and functions.
Demonstrated excellence in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and managing complexity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5 to 10 years of experience in healthcare/pharma sector strongly preferred.
Media relations experience a plus.
Experience in external stakeholder engagement a plus (eg. with Govt policymakers, National Assembly).
