The successful candidate:
- Care provided conforms to accepted practice standards (ONS and Intravenous Nursing Society).
- Provides treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards and plan of care.
- Demonstrates understanding of age-related characteristics and needs of patients served.
- Identifies emergency situations and independently initiates appropriate actions.
- Administer medications, chemotherapy, IV fluids and blood products safely and per policy
- Conducts and reinforces patient education, including treatment plan/regimen, financial implications of care, symptom management, side effects, patient family responsibilities related to self-care, available resources at home or at facility.
- Delegates tasks according to the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.
- Documents nursing care, implants, and specimens accurately, completely and legibly. Assesses the knowledge level of the patient or designated support person.
- Follows policy regarding equipment maintenance and infection control measures.
- Assists in the onboarding of new stakeholders with a positive and inclusive attitude reflective of the COH values.
- Must be able to work 3 8's per week
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- 2 years of nursing experience, prefer chemo infusion
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Registered Nurse, Illinois
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Proof of chemotherapy infusion certification and/or training with in 6 months of hire

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.90 - $52.55 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
