What You Will Achieve
The Protein and Bioanalytical Sciences (PBS) team is focused on creating and delivering novel research test articles for preclinical evaluation. As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations, and you’ll find that everything we do is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing novel Antibody Drug Conjugations (ADCs), developing new conjugation methods and analytical assays, and delivering critical reagents. This person will play a critical role in supporting Pfizer Oncology’s preclinical programs. Your strong foundation in quality scientific practices will help the team in meeting critical deadlines and exceeding milestones. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge. How You Will Achieve It
- Preparation, purification and characterization of ADCs using established and experimental conjugation methodologies.
- Analytical characterization of antibodies and ADCs including HPLC, LC/MS and spectroscopy.
- Collaborate on project teams, present data and demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Data and report generation including regular review of data with manager, project leads and other research associates.
- Evaluation of new technologies and/or lab efficiencies
- Preparation of critical reagents and maintenance of inventories
- Routine laboratory cleaning and equipment maintenance
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant experience or M.S. degree with 0-2 years relevant experience; or equivalent.
- Degree in relevant scientific discipline such as biochemistry, chemistry or other related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years post-baccalaureate lab experience in an academic or industry environment.
- Experience performing protein purification and liquid chromatography techniques required.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills.
- Ability to perform routine tasks independently and commitment to high quality analysis and documentation.
- Willingness to work with potent cytotoxic compounds, following safety protocols.
Nice-to-Have
- Practical experience performing analytical HPLC chromatography of proteins, and UV spectroscopy.
- Analytical LC/MS experience.
- Previous experience performing bio-conjugation techniques.
- Knowledge of protein stability and formulation.
- Prior experience working with electronic lab notebooks and/or LIMS systems.
