About the Department
The Center for Immunology (CFI) is an interdisciplinary research program at the University of Minnesota devoted to advancing the field of immunology and educating future immunologists. CFI has about 60 faculty members, including 17 core members who have CFI-designated laboratory space in the Wallin Medical Biosciences Building (WMBB). CFI provides financial support for the purchase and maintenance of research equipment in its WMBB space and operates an X-irradiation and an imaging core facility. CFI administers a center-wide work in progress meeting, a faculty data club, a journal club, an annual conference, bi-weekly teatime, the Blumenthal Lecture, and a transgenic mouse award. CFI provides guidance and financial support to the Empowering Women in Science and Association of Immunologists for Racial Equity organizations. CFI is led by a Director who is appointed by the Dean of the Medical School.
