Responsibilities
The Rice Lab is hiring a Staff Scientist to perform and direct projects on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and normal brain function using cellular and mouse models. A particular focus of the lab is on the biology of the Amyloid Precursor Protein.

The candidate should have several years of experience in molecular and cellular neuroscience. Experience working with mice and performing behavioral experiments is preferred. The successful candidate should be able to design and conduct molecular experiments, perform mouse studies, prepare reports and papers for publication, communicate research in poster and oral presentations at relevant conferences, and assist with grant writing. The candidate will also have general lab organizational and mouse colony management responsibilities and assist in guiding and training graduate students, postdocs, and lab staff. Finally, the candidate must always act in a highly ethical manner in regard to obtaining and analyzing data as well as the appropriate treatment of lab animals.


Qualifications
Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent AND a minimum of three (3) years postdoctoral experience.
