Job Summary

PRMC and FC coordinator for the GCC and start-up coordinator for the GCC CTO. The PRMC provides administrative and operational oversight for the AU Georgia Cancer Center's Protocol Review and Monitoring system. This position also ensures compliance with all external regulations, best practices, and internal policies. Through close collaboration with the committee's physician leaders and members, the PRMC provides an efficient and effective operating framework for the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) and Feasibility Committee (FC). The start-up coordinator is the initial point-of-contact for all new studies and receives, processes, and routes all study documents. The start-up coordinator also trains new site study personnel to ensure they meet all regulatory guidelines and standards before commencing work on their study responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

GENERAL DUTIES: Point-of-contact for all new studies' receipt of start-up study documents such as CDAs, CTAs; regulatory and budget documents for each study. Reviews and routes the documents to the appropriate personnel for processing. Tracks start-up documents. Ensure the smooth running of the AU Georgia Cancer Center clinical trials by developing systems to track projects including all study, investigator and ethical review board information, patient recruitment activity and financial management. Develop and deliver training on committee review procedures and submission requirements for various members of the AU clinical research community. Assess PRMS practices for alignment with federal and state and local regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices related to data safety and monitoring. Working knowledge of GCP, Code of Federal Regulations. Participates in ongoing clinical research performance improvement initiatives. Keep abreast of new and internal and external developments related to clinical research scientific and safety review. Update and maintain website with current list of clinical trials that are open to accrual and other information pertinent to clinical trials operations. Onboarding of new staff (coordinating the completion of research-required training such as CITI, Biosafety, etc.).

ADMINISTRATIVE: Manage day to day operations of the PRMC and FC, proactively identifying and implementing solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness of office procedures. Manage PRMC review processes of new protocols, prepare forms and reports, communicate with investigators, reviewers, committees, and support staff. Audit information for accuracy and completeness; identify issues, compose queries, and facilitate solutions. Use established metrics and participate in the development of new metrics to monitor investigator compliance with PRMS- required processes and investigator/ administrator error rates and identify modifications to training and communication activities as well as policies and procedures to address these deficiencies as part of ongoing quality improvement effort. Use quantities and qualitive metrics, along with various forms of stakeholder feedback, to identify performance improvement opportunities and implement process improvements. Authors and revises the PRMC and FC charter and policies and procedures as needed. Lead efforts to improve compliance with policies and procedures. Assures that all relevant information is communicated to committee chairpersons, principal investigators, the IRB, CTO, and other relevant groups.

OTHER DUTIES: Coordination of electronic regulatory database systems: Including SIP, Veeva Vault, OnCore and other new systems as acquired. Entering, tracking, and managing data and documents in the systems. Onboarding new personnel and investigators as needed. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR Completion of two years of college level coursework with two years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with three or more years' of professional experience. Experience related to clinical setting or research setting.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

Pay Band: B6

Salary Minimum: $18.85 - $21.26

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
