The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Instructor-Limited Term. The faculty member will direct students in the clinic during their FDNS 7850 Dietetic Internship course. The expected workload will be 400 hours comprising of 320 hours supervising students in the clinic plus 80 hours administration (prep + grading + office). This position is limited to the Fall 2024 semester and is not considered to be on tenure track.

Responsibilities

Teaching - 100%
Direct student in clinic during their supervised internship. Course design and delivery in the classroom. Use online platform and other instructional technology. Provide academic advising.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Registered Dietitian credential with at least 5 years of experience; state licenser; experience as a dietetic internship preceptor. Proficiency in written and oral communication skills; ability for effective teaching.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

• Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
• Evidence of ability as a teacher;
• Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
• Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
• Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Academic background in clinical nutrition instruction, Specialty certification (i.e. RDN_AP, CNSC, CDE, CSP, CSO)

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0

Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
