The Radiation Oncology Department at City of Hope has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate with a lot of exposure to clinical practice of radiotherapy physics. The Radiation Oncology Department at COH is the largest Radiation Oncology enterprise in the southern California with more than 25 Linear Accelerators (Linacs) including special designed machines such as MR-guided Linac and PET-guided linac, Varian Ethos with adaptive radiotherapy capabilities. Different imaging simulators are also available within the department including CT, PET/CT and MRI. Research is highly active here.

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I performs a variety of routine and increasingly complex research experiments.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop novel magnetic resonance imaging technique.
  • Develop new medical image post-processing techniques using conventional and deep learning-based approaches.
  • Coordinate research imaging studies to promote applications of MRI in the application of radiotherapy.
  • Troubleshoot procedures if experiment results are unexpected or unsatisfactory. Recommend alternative procedures.
  • Independently evaluate research data and initiate alternative approaches to improve the quality of results by providing input to overall research design.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts by describing methods and specialized techniques, presenting collected results.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.
  • 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two years related research experience in the medical imaging or related computer science field with knowledge about magnetic resonance imaging and image processing.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $25.13 - $29.15 / hour
