Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified and
enthusiastic individual to join the web applications development team in our state-wide external quality
review project (Texas EQRO). This individual will work in a team setting maintaining existing applications
as well as working with Team Leaders to develop new applications/features. This individual will
communicate with faculty and staff as well as other internal and external constituencies.

Duties Include:

Application Development
*Participate in requirements gathering and analysis to understand business needs and translate them into
technical solutions.
*Design, develop, and implement web applications based on specifications and requirements.
*Write and maintain code following best practices and coding standards.
*Test and debug code to ensure quality and functionality of applications.
*Collaborate with team members, and customers throughout the software development life cycle.

Support.
*Provide ongoing support for existing applications, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
*Maintain and update documentation related to applications, processes, and procedures.
*Monitor application performance and address any performance issues for bottlenecks.
*Assist users with application-related questions or problems and provide training when necessary.

Other Duties as Assigned
This position is responsible for a variety of projects and staff needed to accomplish long-term goals.
Communicate and interact with peers and customers. Produce documentation. Compose written
materials in a clear and concise manner appropriate for intended audiences. This job may include a
variety of tasks that are performed as needed.
EXPECTED SALARY:
$75,000 - $85,000

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four
years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may
substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
* Bachelor degree or equivalent and five years of relevant experience or Master degree in computer
science with two years of relevant experience.

Experience
*Experience developing backend APIs using .NET or similar frameworks.
*Experience in front end design using SPA frameworks such as Angular, React.
*Experience working with relational database and SQL Language.
*Software development life cycle.
*Manual and automated application testing.
*Project defect tracking and remediation.

Skills
*Be a self-starter requiring limited direct supervision in a busy multiple priority environment.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding communicator; interpersonal skills; and
the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with all constituencies.
*Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented approach and mindset.
