Patient Access Systems Analyst II

Position Highlights:

  • The Patient Access Systems Analyst II provides support in the selection, development, installation, configuration, conversion, implementation, and ongoing utilization of patient access systems; with a specialty in clinical and surgery scheduling builds. This position analyzes, programs, tests, implements, and maintains system functionality; as well as provides advanced knowledge in problem determination, evaluation, and resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains productions systems to ensure reliable performance, appropriate change management, and security.
    • Maintains Cerner Millennium scheduling build and functionality. Performs root cause analysis.
    • Provides advanced expertise in the scheduling build for Cerner SurgiNet.
    • Provides advanced expertise in problem determination, evaluation, and solution.
    • Provides on-call support in accordance with the on-call calendar.
    • Codes and modifies software modules.
  • Evaluates, designs, codes, tests, and implements custom or vendor supplied system software.
    • Provides advanced expertise and product knowledge to install, configure, and support Patient Access systems.
    • Performs detailed test scenarios to minimize negative impact on clients.
  • Identifies business and clinical issues through interaction with clinicians and end users.
    • Provides functional and technical guidance to assigned personnel on a project-by-project basis including EHR and scheduling strategies.
    • Documents and reviews project specifications.
    • Updates project tracking system.
  • System documentation for procedures, training materials, and policies.
    • Assists in the development of systems documentations.
    • Development of comprehensive test plans
  • Performs post-implementation support of new or re-engineered systems.
    • Assists  in post-implementation troubleshooting, education, and optimization.
  • Provides operational systems support to clients and internal IT teams.
    • Collects MTAs for Cerner support and analysis.
    • Prepares project status reports and monitors project progress.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Computer Science, Healthcare, Informatics and/or IT related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in technology operations with information systems configuration, development, conversion, implementation, and support of solutions at both the functional and technical layers, is required.

- OR -  * Associate’s degree with an additional two (2) years of experience in systems development, implementation and support plus the five (5) years (for a total of 7 years) experience may be considered "in lieu" of a Bachelor's degree.

- OR -  *High School diploma with an additional four (4) years of experience in systems development, implementation and support plus the five (5) years (for a total of 9 years) experience may be considered "in lieu" of a Bachelor's degree.

  • Cerner build experience within the scheduling database tools, to include SurgiNet. 
  • Cerner Millennium scheduling application; Win32 or JavaScript
  • Cerner Millennium User Maintenance
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access)

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a health care environment
  • Cerner Core, PowerChart, Pathnet, MDI, FSI optional
